If you didn’t subscribe for the Android competition, which Google plans to distribuite $10 million between developers who present the best applications for the OS, well you still have time. It looks like the bugs on the SDK are not the only problem with Android. Google’s lawyers didn’t even finished the terms and conditions for the contest, even with a month to do it so.

In the words of Dan Morrill Google’s engineer.

Hello, Developers!

As you probably know, the Android Developer Challenge submission period for
the first round is scheduled to run from today, 2 January, through 3 March.

Unfortunately final testing revealed some cross-browser bugs in the
application we’ll be using to allow you submit your work.  We’re fixing
those now, and will have the site up and running as soon as we possibly
can.  At the same time that the submission application becomes available,
we’ll also make the final Terms and Conditions of the competition available.

We apologize for the delay, and thank you for your patience!

- Dan

All of this leads us to the question if Google is not rushing into things with Android, last month the complains about the bug on the SDK speculated that the company might have launched Android too early because it wanted the developer kit become avaliable before Apple releases its own in a couple of months. The problem of being the centre of attention is that you still need to have a great performance. Developers are describing developing for Android as driving a car with only two wheels, however for an Alpha version of Android, it is fair enough for early stage.

We all know Google, and based on a history of amazing company growth we can expect a better performance for the next couple of months.
