Google announced this week a new interface which will apply Google’s application such as Gmail, Picassa, Calendar, IGoogle and Reader. Well Android using these applications is not something really amazing, but the great thing here is the new interface is aiming Iphone and Ipod Touch users.

The new interface brings together changes in the Gmail application such as auto-refresh of your mailbox and auto-complete for quick addressing. iGoogle, meanwhile, gives you mobile access to all your Google Gadgets, both tools are really useful for workers on the move.

This new interface could lead for more users using Google and its applications to surf the web, however could also slow down user’s interest in Android. Google’s platform uses the same WebKit rendering engine as Safari on the iPhone. If successful, Android could help break the telco’s hold on mobile services and lead to cheaper smartphones.
