Android’s SDK with a goofy easter egg

SDK was released, well this everybody knows. Google’s challenge opened for entries, well this isn’t any shocking news either. However did you know my good fella that Android’s SDK has an Easter Egg? Well I didn’t until five minutes ago.

It looks like the team behind the SDK have a little appreciation for The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. For those who are not familiar with the history here it goes a little spoiler.

Deep Thought is a computer that was created by a pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent race of beings to come up with the ultimate answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. After seven and a half million years of calculation, the answer finally turns out to be 42.

And where the SDK got in that? If you change one of the numbers in the Android’s Debug Bridge you will view a crazy picture.

If you want to see such thing, you only need to launch the console adb (Android Debug Bridge) and use the command: "service call SurfaceFlinger 7 i32 0 i32 X" where X is equal to 1, 2, 3 or 4 which allows for orient the screen in different directions.

Now if you change X for 42 the result will be this.

We need to thank the guys from PointGPhone to show us this Easter Egg, now who is going to be the next one to find something crazy? Please raise your hand.
