Motorola out of mobile market?

I want to start this post by saying I’m not a Motorola Big Fan, however this latest news shocked me. I knew that the giant Mobile corporation was not in its best shape but thinking about leaving the market it is an impressive decision.
They are looking at the Mobile Phones division and thinking about to give a spin off to act as a separated company. Motorola mobile phones unit lost $388 million this quarter, compared to $341 million in earnings a year ago.
And what are the plans now? Well they might sell the unit to focus on being a Government and Enterprise company.
"We are exploring ways in which our Mobile Devices Business can accelerate its recovery and retain and attract talent while enabling our shareholders to realize the value of this great franchise." Greg Brown, current president and CEO
We can grant this fall to their Razr phone. They didn’t just saturated their consumers with Razr phone and their variations (Dolce & Gabbana), as they not even made a major improve on the OS.
Motorola since later 2006 was investing on Razr phone as crazy however with few modifications on the platform. Meanwhile their competitors like Nokia and LG were cutting their way to the top with different handsets (LG Viewty)
It is a shame Motorola, you guys have potential what lacks it’s to listen to your customers.
