Has been a long time since the MWC and the news about Android phone that came along with the event. and After a while without any news, here comes one that is completely amazing. Darren Water from BBC went on a meeting with Google’s Android developer Andy Rubin; and despite demonstrating a alpha version of the software the mobile phone Rubin brought showed how Google will be a pain in the ass for Symbian and Windows Mobile. The device was capable of navigating the full internet without problems using 3G and handling Google Maps with the street view image application smoothly.
Rubin also explained why Google decided not to do a gPhone and talked about the problems of making a device for a widely varied markets. Using Apple as an example he talks about the challenge the company faces and describe the iPhone which himself owns as "a great 1.0 product".
“One of the things that is a challenge for them is having an incredible footprint worldwide - there are different types of communications standards, regulatory issues, and different language issues. I’m hoping that doesn’t limit them” Andy Rubin, Google
The rumors last week show different when saying that Google might get in the hardware market with a handset powered by Samsung however carrying the search engine’s logo instead of the big manufacture.
