FCC 700MHz Block C reserve exceeded

Yeah Dude after a good fight on the round 17 of bidding on the FCC’s 700MHz spectrum, the block c reserved price was left behind. Which generates two possibilities:

1) Someone will take a chunk of what is believed being the wireless spectrum in the United States.

2) Two they have been forced to allow third party devices to access their network thanks to Google’s pressure for open-access (Thanks Guys)

700 MHz Auction begins today

Today 24/01/2008 the bidding starts, FCC is putting on "sale" the 700mhz spectrum!!

Many big companies are bidding like AT&T Inc, Alltel Corp, Cox Communication Inc, Leap Wireless International Inc, Metro PCS Inc, Google, Sprint, Verizon al together being in a total of 96 companies. Google promest if winning the network will be opened for many application and devices, which AT&T and Verizon just now changed their position and agree to do the same.

FCC releases applicants names for 700MHz frequency

700MHz spectrum, Google

It is official, FCC (Federal Communications Commission) released this week the names of the ones interested on the spectrum frequency, and as it is not a surprise Google is among them.The auction is due January 24, 2008 and so far has 96 bidders and another 170 waiting to complete their application.
